Menu bar

The Menu bar is located beneath the Title bar and above the Tool bar and contains a list of menu labels. Select a menu label to display a drop list of options, then select an option from the drop list to perform its action:

Menu options vary from one module to another. This section describes all menu options available in all modules. Not all menu options are available in all modules:

File

Options	Sub menu	Shortcut	Description
New Record		`CTRL+N`	Add a record in the module. The module enters New mode and clears all fields except for default values.
Save Record		`CTRL+S`	Save the current record.
Cancel		`ESC`	Cancel the changes to this record or cancel the new record before it is saved.
Previous Search		`ALT+F+R`	Return to Search mode, keeping any values that were entered in the last search.
New Search		`ALT+F+E`	Enter or return to Search Search mode, clearing all values from fields except for default search values.
Additional Search	>Merge(OR) >Intersect(AND) >Subtract(NOT)		Run a second search and combine the results in one of three ways, ADD, OR or NOT.
Search		`CTRL+F`	Run a search.
Show Search			Displays the TexQL Query Statement of a search in the current module (i.e. excludes attachment fields). The Query Statement can be edited.
Show Attach Search			Displays the TexQL Query Statement of a search that will run in an attached module. There must be a search term in the attachment field and the cursor must be in the field. The Query Statement can be edited.
Show All Searches			Displays the current search criteria in TexQL format, including any searches that will run in any attached modules. The Query Statement can be edited.
Discard	>Current Record >Selected Records	`CTRL+D`	Discard either the currentThe record currently displayed in Details View or highlighted in List View (there is a faint dotted line around it). It is only possible to have one current record at a time. or selectedA selected record is one that has been chosen either on its own or to as part of a group of records. It is usual to select the records you want to be affected by an operation before performing the operation. Selected records are used in many instances, e.g. when a number of records are to be: discarded, saved in a group, or attached to another record. A selected record displays on screen with a blue background when in List View. records.
Delete	>Current Record >Selected Records		Delete either the currentThe record currently displayed in Details View or highlighted in List View (there is a faint dotted line around it). It is only possible to have one current record at a time. or selectedA selected record is one that has been chosen either on its own or to as part of a group of records. It is usual to select the records you want to be affected by an operation before performing the operation. Selected records are used in many instances, e.g. when a number of records are to be: discarded, saved in a group, or attached to another record. Printer Setup			Open the printer setup dialogue box.
Print Tab		`CTRL+P`	Print a screenshot of the current tab, including the data.
Close			Close the current module.

Edit

Options	Sub menu	Shortcut	Description
Undo		`CTRL+Z`	Undo the last edit.
Redo		`SHIFT+CTRL+Z`	Redo the last edit removed.
Cut		`CTRL+X`	Copy and delete the selected text.
Copy		`CTRL+C`	Copy the selected text.
Copy Special...			Copy selected records in List View and specify what the Line / Row character (delimiter) will be when pasting into Microsoft Excel. Can be useful if a column selected in List View is for a table of values (e.g. Other Names: (Person Details) in the Parties module.
Paste		`CTRL+V`	Paste text.
Clear		`CTRL+DEL`	Clear the field. In a multi-language environment, all data is cleared from the field even if only a single language is set to display.
Clear Group Box		`SHIFT+CTRL+Del`	A Group Box is a group of fields bounded within a box and sharing a common field label. For example, in the Parties module, there is a Person Details Group Box which includes the following fields: Title: (Person Details) First: (Person Details) Middle: (Person Details) Last: (Person Details) Suffix: (Person Details) Other Names: (Person Details) The Clear Group Box command clears all values in a Group Box when the cursor is active in one of the fields in the Group Box.
Clear All		`SHIFT+DEL`	In Search mode, clear all search values entered in all fields.
Calendar			When the cursor is in a date field, select this menu option to display a pop up calendar.
Lookup List		`F12`	Open the Lookup List attached to the selected field.
Attach		`F11`	Attach a record from another module to this record.
View Attached	>Current Record >Selected Records		Open the targetAn attachment is made from one record to another. The record from which the attachment is initiated is the Primary record; the record that is attached is called the Target. module and list any records to which the current or selected records made an attachment. Note: the cursor must be in an attachment field and only records attached to the current field will be listed.
Ditto	>Current Field	`F9`	Copy the current field only.
	>Current tab	`SHIFT+CTRL+F9`	Copy the current tab.
	>All Fields	`SHIFT+F9`	Copy all fields.
	>Use Current Record for Ditto	`CTRL+F9`	Use the current record as the Ditto recordThe selected record from which data is copied into a new or existing record using the Ditto utility..
	>Select Ditto Record		Select the record to be used as the current Ditto record.
	>Update on Save		Automatically make the last record saved the Ditto record.
Default Values	>Load		Load the currently selected default values.
	>Change		Change the default values selected.
	>Set as Defaults		Set the current values as the default values.
Replace...		`CTRL+H`	Open the Global Replace edit box.
Merge	>Current Record >Selected Records		Merge the current or selected records with the existing records.
Recall	>Current Record >Selected Records		Return the data in a record to an earlier state.
Insert	>Current Date	`CTRL+;`	Insert the current date into the current field.
	>Current Time	`SHIFT+CTRL+;`	Insert the current time into the current field.
	>Tab	`CTRL+ALT+Tab`	Insert a tab character.
Find a Field		`F3`	Find and move to a specific field in a module window.
Move to Tabs			Shift focus to the current tab.

Select

Options	Shortcut	Description
Select Current Record	`F8`	Select the current record.
Add Current Record To Selection	`CTRL+F8`	Add the current record to the records already selected.
All Records in Results	`SHIFT+F8`	Select all records in the results set.
Invert Selection		Invert the selection, i.e. records previously selected become unselected and records previously unselected are selected.
Clear Selection		All records are unselected.

View

Options	Sub menu	Shortcut	Description
List			Change to List View.
Contact Sheet			Change to Contact Sheet View.
Page			Change to Page View.
Details			Change to Details View.
Archive View			Select to display the Archive View panel to the left of the main module window. The Archive View displays the entire Archive tree for the current record. Note: Only displays in the Catalogue module.
Browse View			Show / hide the Browse View panel. Note: Only displays in the Thesaurus module in EMu 5.0 onwards.
Always Show Current Record in Browse View			Click to enable. When enabled, as the current record changes in the main module window (e.g. by clicking a row in List View, or navigating through records in Details View), the term for the current record will be located and shown in the Browse View hierarchy and will become the primary selection. Note: Only displays in the Thesaurus module in EMu 5.0 onwards.
Show Current Record in Browse View			Click to enable. When enabled, the term for the current record in the main module window will be located and shown in Browse View and will become the primary selection. Note: Only displays in the Thesaurus module in EMu 5.0 onwards.
Thumbnails			Display in the Summary Data a thumbnail of any associated multimedia.
Interleave field changes			Select to display changes to fields: if ticked, the new and old values are grouped together; if not ticked, new values are listed first, then old values are listed. Note: Only displays in the Audit Trails module.
First Record			Move to the first record in the list.
Previous Record		`F5`	Move back to the previous record in the list.
Next Record		`F6`	Move forward to the next record in the list.
Last Record			Move to the last record in the list.
Go To Record		`CTRL+G`	Move to a specific record in the list according to its relative record number.
List Settings	>Choose List		Select a List View from the Fields box.
	>Change List Settings		Modify the current List View.
	>Save List Settings		Saves the column widths if they have been resized.
Page Settings	>Choose Page		Select a Page View from the Reports box.
	>Launch Viewer		In Page View, display the current record in a browser.
Shortcuts Settings	>Show Shortcuts		Open the shortcut pane with the currently selected shortcuts.
	>Choose Shortcuts		Select the set of shortcuts to display from the Shortcuts box.
	>Change Shortcuts Settings		Modify the current Shortcut set (if you have permission to do so).
Refresh		`CTRL+R`	Refresh the current or selected records.
Attachments	<Module>		When the module name is selected in the menu, the module will open and display all records attached to the current record (or selected records). See View Attachments Registry entry for Registry entry details.

	>Options>Show Tabs		Displays all reverse attachment tabs that the user has the right to view.
	>Options>Show Filled Tabs		All reverse attachment tabs that contain current attachments are displayed as you move through the records returned by a search.
	>Options>Hide Tabs		Hides reverse attachment tabs.
	>Options>Show Search Tabs		When in Search mode, all reverse attachment tabs that can be searched are displayed.
Show Attachments		`F4`	View reverse attachment search tabs.
Synonyms		`ALT+V+Y`	In the Parties module, add all synonym records for the selected records to the existing results list.

Tools

Move			Events modules1 that use the Exhibition Objects extensions include a Tools>Move menu option. Spelling		`F7`	Check the spelling of the selected records.
Language	<Language1> <Language2> >All Languages	`CTRL+F2` `CTRL+F3` `CTRL+F4`	Change the display language.
Sort Results			Sort the records using a saved sort.
Recondition	>Current Record Selected Records		Update the condition information of the current record or to batch update multiple objects.
Relocate	>Current Record Selected Records		Move one or multiple objects from one location to another in a single operation.
Revalue	>Current Record >Selected Records		Update the value of one or multiple objects.
Ad-hoc Sort			Specify the sort criteria for a group of records and sort.
Set Record Security	>Selected Records >All Records		Update the security permissions to one or multiple records.
Change Password		`ALT+T+H`	Change your login password.
Import			Batch import new records and update existing records.
Reports			Run, edit or create a report.
Exports			Export data.
Templates		`ALT+T+M`	Create a batch of records based on an existing record.
Group	>Current Record		Add the current record to a group.
	>Selected Records		Add the selected records to a group.
	>All Records in Results		Save all records results from a search together as a group.
	>Save Search Criteria		Save a set of search criteria.
	>Retrieve Group		Display a saved group of records.
Resources			Use EMu Resources.
Options			Display the EMu interface Options box.

Parts

View		Open all records that are related as parts to this record.
Add Selected Records	Retain Current Record	Merge the selected parts records with the existing group of records.
	Discard Current Record	Replace the existing group of records with the selected parts records.
Refresh		Refresh the parts view.

Multimedia

Options	Sub menu	Description
Attach Multimedia		Attach a multimedia resource to the current record.
Detach Multimedia		Detach the multimedia resource from the current record.
View Attached	>Current Multimedia	View the currently selected multimedia resource attached to record in the Multimedia module.
	>All Multimedia	View all multimedia resources attached to record in the Multimedia module.
Scanner Setup		Setup a scanner.
Scan Image		Scan an image.
Launch Viewer		View the multimedia resource in an external viewer.
Save		Save the multimedia resource in specific format and size, e.g. jpeg (90 X 67).
Print	>Image	Print the multimedia resource in specific format and size, e.g. Certified (Large).
View	>All Multimedia	View the multimedia resources attached to a record as thumbnails.
	>Current Multimedia	View the multimedia resource attached to a record in a larger view.
	>First Multimedia	Where more than one multimedia resource is added to the record, move to the first multimedia resource.
	>Previous Multimedia	Where more than one multimedia resource is added to the record, move to the previous multimedia resource.
	>Next Multimedia	Where more than one multimedia resource is added to the record, move to the next multimedia resource.
	>Last Multimedia	Where more than one multimedia resource is added to the record, move to the last multimedia resource.
Audio /Video	>Play	Start to play the video or audio file.
	>Pause	Pause play of the video or audio file.
	>Stop	Stop the play of the video or audio file.
	>Rewind	Rewind the video or audio file.
